Longboards

One hobby I enjoy is skating, specifically Longboarding. The only difference bewtween
Skateboards and Londboards is the length and sometimes the material of them. For
it to be considered a longboard it depends on its shape, size, and the
trucks; which hold the wheels and allows you to turn; have to be pointed a certain direction.
Otherwise it would be considered a skateboard.

Longboards have a large amount of things that can be done with them, from simply just
riding around to going downhill at extremely fast speeds.

Origin of the Longboard

The longboard was invented in the 40's to 50's by a man named Prestion Nichols as an alternative to
surfing when the waves were dull. Those boards were relativly crude compared
to nowadays as they were made with wooden planks and roller skates. Longboarding went down
in popularity by the early 1960's but made a comeback in 1972 with the creation
of urethane wheels. Ever since then longboards have been rising in popularity,
especially in early 2020 with the pandemic.
